BOSTON, Massachusetts. – September 27, 2017
BMC HealthNet Plan announced that it has retained its Excellent Accreditation status from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), the highest status awarded by NCQA. It was also rated 4 out of 5 according to NCQA’s Medicaid Health Insurance Plan Ratings 2017-2018.
This year, NCQA rated more than 1,000 health insurance plans based on clinical quality, member satisfaction and NCQA Accreditation survey results. This approach rates plans on the results of care people receive and what patients say about their care.
This achievement is the result of our deep commitment to ensuring the highest quality care for every member, which represents a collective effort from every segment of our organization.
Medicaid health plans from across the country voluntarily submit for NCQA’s reviewing and rating the clinical data from the Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS®), and from member satisfaction data in the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS®).
“This achievement is the result of our deep commitment to ensuring the highest quality care for every member, which represents a collective effort from every segment of our organization,” said Susan Coakley, President of BMC HealthNet Plan. “It also reflects the commitment of our provider partners to delivering care that meets the unique needs of our members,” added Coakley.
BMC HealthNet Plan’s New Hampshire business, Well Sense Health Plan, also yielded high quality results, retaining Commendable status and earned a 4.5 out of 5 rating for its Medicaid product, making it one of the highest rated Medicaid plans nationwide and the highest in New Hampshire.
